eOphtha was started as a blog in 2007 by Dr. Parthopratim Dutta Majumder. In August 2008, officially the website www.eophtha.com was launched. The whole web designing and development of this website was single handedly done by Dr Parthopratim. This website is primarily intended to meet the requirements of the residents, fellows and trainees of ophthalmology and optometry. Dr Partho’s unique and creative way of simplifying the subject is the highlight of this website. Various PPT presentations on important topics prepared by postgraduates from across the country have been uploaded on the website and can be accessed by one and all. e-resources for searching and understanding complex topics in ophthalmology have been mentioned in the website. Blogs on various topics by renowned ophthalmologists sharing their experiences from across the country add to the flavor of this website. This website is also a boon for exam going residents as the previous question papers of DNB and DO exams have been uploaded. Landmark journals and studies which are also useful for exams have been put up. For the benefit of the postgraduates who have completed their residency, lists of hospitals that offer fellowships throughout the country have been listed. This makes it easy for them to know on the availability of fellowships of a particular specialty in a given hospital. List of upcoming national and international conferences have also been highlighted for the convenience of the users to plan their conferences ahead of time. The Initiative of starting this website is to make the process of learning for the residents, fellows and optometrists a joyful experience. Sharing of knowledge is the key to gaining more knowledge
